Improve your team with fun sprint retrospectives

Overview

EasyRetro (rebranded from FunRetro in November 2020) is a long-running indie retro tool with 100+ templates, drag-and-drop boards, an AI board summary feature added in early 2024, drawing-on-cards (August 2025), and 2026 updates including hide-column controls and on-the-fly timer controls (pause/resume, +1 minute).

Best for: Small to mid-size agile teams, scrum masters and consultants who want a clean, fast, low-friction retro tool without enterprise overhead.

How EasyRetro describes itself

EasyRetro pitches itself as the simple, fun way to run a sprint retrospective — 100+ ready-made templates, a drag-and-drop board, voting, comments, and unlimited participants on every plan, free one included.

"Improve with Fun Sprint Retrospectives"

The voice is indie, not enterprise. They claim the "most configurable board out there", insist "there's no correct way of running retrospectives", and lead with a usage number rather than a logo wall — "helped teams improve in more than 1,000,000 retrospectives". Billing is flat-rate per team, not per seat. The 2026 work they highlight — hide-column controls, mid-phase timer pause/resume — reads as quality-of-life polish, not a pivot to AI or analytics. Target buyer: scrum masters and small agile teams.

Our take

EasyRetro is a strong pick when your only job is running a clean retro with near-zero setup. The template library is deep, the board is quick, and flat-rate billing — $25/mo for one team, $60/mo for three, unlimited members throughout — undercuts per-seat rivals badly at 24 people. Action items bulk-export to Jira; boards export to Confluence, PDF, CSV, Excel, DOCX and PNG. It is plainly still maintained: hide-column landed January 2026, mid-phase timer controls in June, and the web app moved off AngularJS onto Vue between May and July.

Against the agile lens the gaps are structural. No health-check model, no mood or sentiment tracking, no cross-team rollups or trend lines, and AI stops at one board summary — you still drag cards together by hand. No public API, webhooks or MCP server. Governance is thin too: the vendor leans on Google Cloud's certifications rather than holding SOC 2 or ISO 27001, data sits in US Central with no EU option, SAML SSO starts at $90/mo, and SCIM doesn't exist.

Best for scrum masters and small teams who want a retro board, not a platform.

Pros

  • + Extremely easy to use with minimal setup friction and a clean drag-and-drop board
  • + Library of 100+ retrospective templates spanning multiple categories and languages
  • + Clean export options including Confluence, Jira (now bulk), PDF, CSV, PNG, Excel and DOCX
  • + Flat per-team pricing with unlimited members — $60/mo covers three teams of any size
  • + Still actively maintained — hide-column and on-the-fly timer controls shipped in 2026, and the web app was rebuilt from AngularJS onto Vue mid-2026

Cons

  • No native health checks, mood tracking or longitudinal trend reporting
  • AI is limited to a single board-summary feature — no auto-grouping, AI action items, sentiment, or template generation
  • Integration set is narrow and mostly export-only — no GitHub, Linear or Azure DevOps; the Teams integration embeds boards as tabs rather than pushing action items
  • Vendor itself isn't SOC 2 / ISO 27001 certified (relies on GCP); data sits in US Central with no EU residency option, SAML SSO starts at the $90/mo tier, and there's no SCIM
  • Free plan allows 2 public boards per month, keeps only 2 boards on the dashboard (archived ones included), and excludes teams and team boards entirely
