Overview

EasyRetro (rebranded from FunRetro in November 2020) is a long-running indie retro tool built around a fast drag-and-drop board and a 200-plus template library. 2026 added working AI — card grouping, board-column generation from a theme prompt and meeting summaries — plus numeric-scale and multiple-choice surveys, dashboard bulk actions, free PNG/CSV export and organisation audit logs.

Best for: Small to mid-size agile teams, scrum masters and consultants who want a clean, fast, low-friction retro tool without enterprise overhead.

How EasyRetro describes itself

EasyRetro sells speed and volume: a drag-and-drop board, a template library the vendor's own pages size at anywhere from 100 to 300+, and unlimited participants on every plan including the free one. The target buyer is the scrum master who wants a retro running in under a minute.

"Improve with Fun Sprint Retrospectives"

The voice is indie, not enterprise. They claim the "most configurable board out there", insist "there's no correct way of running retrospectives", and lead with a usage number rather than a logo wall — "helped teams improve in more than 1,000,000 retrospectives". Pricing is flat per team and the page says so twice: "Cancel anytime · No per-seat fees". The plan table now advertises "AI summary, grouping & templates", but the framing is still tool, not platform.

Our take

EasyRetro is the right call when you want a clean retro board and nothing on top of it. Setup is near-zero, participants join a link without an account, and flat billing — $25/mo for one team, $60/mo for three, unlimited members throughout — beats per-seat rivals badly at 24 people.

The 2026 work is more than polish. AI card grouping proposes merges you approve column by column, board columns generate from a theme prompt, and June's survey rewrite added numeric-scale and multiple-choice polls with Team Health Check, Team Safety, mood and meeting-value templates. Audit logs landed in July on the $150/mo tier. The Analytics page quietly rolls up action completion, participation and retro cadence across selected teams.

The gaps are still structural. Those health surveys are one question on one board, not a tracked programme — no model, no radar, no trend across sprints. Slack only announces new boards. There is no API, no webhooks, no MCP. And governance stays thin: no SOC 2, no SCIM, US-only hosting, SSO from $90/mo.

Best for scrum masters and small teams who want a retro board, not a platform.
