RetroTeam

AI retrospective tool for high-performing teams

Overall score
4.7

Low activity — verify before committing

Product and pricing are live — the app and pricing page both responded on 3 August 2026, and prices are unchanged since at least September 2025. Public activity has slowed: the last product/feature announcement was 24 February 2025, the blog resumed briefly in March 2026 and has posted nothing since 30 March 2026, and the LinkedIn page's most recent post was November 2025. There is no changelog or release-notes page to check.

Overview

RetroTeam is a focused, AI-first retrospective app that runs teams through a structured capture, group, vote, and action-items flow with Jira sync.

Best for: Small to mid-size agile teams who want lightweight AI-assisted retros and Jira hand-off without enterprise overhead.

How RetroTeam describes itself

RetroTeam sells itself as the AI retrospective tool for high-performing teams — aimed at scrum masters and engineering managers who want a guided retro flow rather than a blank whiteboard.

"Use Ai to run agile retrospectives and Identify strengths, weaknesses and group similar comments for efficient action planning."

Everything hangs off a four-stage loop: capture, AI group, vote, AI actions. A second landing page leads with "Instant Access - no sign up", and Jira is the only integration named anywhere. Google, Adobe, Uber and Netflix logos sit under a "trusted by engineering teams worldwide" banner, and pricing is flat per plan — $10 or $30 a month for the whole org, not per seat.

Our take

RetroTeam does one job cleanly: run a four-stage retro, let AI cluster the comments, and turn the winners into owned actions. Grouping is accept/reject per suggestion rather than applied over your head, votes are hidden even from the facilitator, and every stage carries a timer with an audible alert. At $30/mo flat for five teams and 50 users it undercuts per-seat rivals heavily, and participants join by link with no account.

Against this site's lens the ceilings arrive fast. No health checks, no recurring retros, no scheduling, no async mode — a board is a live session or nothing. Jira is the only integration, and there's no API, webhooks or MCP server, so retro data stays where it lands. Hosting is US-only; SSO, SCIM, SOC 2 and audit logs are absent. AI is metered at 50–150 credits a month.

Best fit: one Jira-based squad that wants faster retros for pocket change. Coaches running cross-team programs should look elsewhere — and check the release cadence first: no product announcement since February 2025.

Pros

  • + Tight, opinionated retro flow — capture, AI group, vote, act — with a timer on every stage
  • + AI grouping suggestions are accept/reject per card, not applied over your head
  • + Flat plan pricing: $30/mo covers 5 teams and 50 users, well under per-seat rivals
  • + Participants join by link with no account required
  • + Org-wide action dashboard with owner, status and due date, plus one-way Jira links

Cons

  • Jira is the only integration — no Slack, Teams, GitHub, Linear or Azure DevOps, and no public API or webhooks
  • No health checks, kudos, or longitudinal team-pulse tracking
  • Four built-in templates only; the custom builder fills the gap, but there's no template library
  • No SSO, SCIM, SOC 2 or audit logs, and hosting is US-only with no EU residency option
  • AI is credit-metered — 50/mo on Premium, 150 on Pro, then an upgrade or a one-off credit top-up
