RetroTeam

AI-first retro tool the vendor is winding down

Overall score
4.6

Likely abandoned — not recommended

The vendor has announced RetroTeam is winding down. The homepage is now a farewell notice — "RetroTeam is winding down. We are moving away from RetroTeam to ChannelPulse, our AI interview coach" — the same banner appears above the sign-in screen at main.retroteam.ai, and every remaining page carries a ChannelPulse footer. Checked 1 September 2026: the app, pricing page and docs all still load and plans are still purchasable, but no shutdown date, data-export path or migration guidance has been published. Product docs were last updated July 2024.

Overview

RetroTeam is a focused, AI-first retrospective app — capture, group, vote, act, with Jira hand-off — that its vendor has announced it is winding down while the team moves to an unrelated interview-coaching product.

Best for: Nobody adopting today — the vendor has announced it is winding down. Existing teams should export their PDF reports and pick a replacement.

How RetroTeam describes itself

RetroTeam no longer pitches itself as a retro tool. The homepage has been replaced by a farewell notice, and the same banner sits above the app's sign-in screen:

"RetroTeam is winding down. We are moving away from RetroTeam to ChannelPulse, our AI interview coach."

The pricing, docs and security pages are untouched and still sell the old story: an AI-first four-stage retro — capture, AI group, vote, AI actions — with Jira as the only named integration and flat plan pricing at $10 or $30 a month for the whole org rather than per seat. Every remaining page now carries a "Come practice with us on ChannelPulse" footer. The team's stated focus is interviewing, not retrospectives.

Our take

The product still does one job cleanly. A four-stage board with a timer on every stage, AI grouping you accept or reject per suggestion rather than have applied over your head, votes hidden even from the facilitator, and AI-drafted action items with an owner, status and due date. Analytics rolls the last 15 retros into "three things going well, three to improve". At $30/mo flat for 50 users it undercut every per-seat rival.

None of that decides it now. The vendor has announced it is winding down and moved to an unrelated interview-coaching product. There is no published shutdown date and no migration guidance, and the only way out is a PDF report — no API, no webhooks, no MCP server. Hosting stays US-only; SSO, SCIM, SOC 2 and audit logs were never there.

Don't start here. If your team is already on RetroTeam, pull your reports and choose a successor this sprint.
