Simyl Flow is an outcomes measurement platform for engineering teams in which the retrospective is one of five linked ceremonies (planning poker, standups, demo prep, retros, coaching). The framing is a closed loop across planning, execution, review, reflection and growth, with the retrospective positioned as the reflection step rather than the product itself. Sprint metrics flow in from Jira, Linear, GitHub and CI; the retro turns them into decisions; the six-dimension health score (Delivery, Flow, Quality, Collaboration, Ownership, Adaptability) reports whether those decisions worked. Privacy is pitched as architecture rather than policy — "Flow doesn't grade engineers", scores are team-level, and coaching notes stay between a developer and their manager. Our take

Simyl Flow is the most convincing attempt in this list at fixing the real failure mode of retrospectives — that nobody knows whether last sprint's improvement worked. Boards open with six delivery metrics already on them, AI drafts cards from anomalies in that data, unfinished actions carry forward, and a six-dimension health score answers sprint-over-sprint whether the change landed. The integration breadth behind it is well beyond what a young retro tool usually ships, and the official MCP server is a real platform feature rather than a roadmap slide.

Measured strictly as a retrospective tool, though, it is under-equipped: no documented timer or phase control, no anonymous submission, no grouping, no presentation mode, five templates against 50+ elsewhere, and no engagement layer at all. The health score is inferred from delivery data rather than asked of the team, so mood, sentiment and ROTI are absent. If your retros fail on thin participation rather than measurement, this doesn't address it.

The trust picture needs care. Security substance is real — AES-256, TLS 1.3, no source-code storage — but the compliance claims are self-attested: "aligned, not certified" means the vendor holds neither SOC 2 nor ISO 27001 and is leaning on AWS's. With a 2024 founding, an unnamed "small team of engineers" and no third-party coverage, this rests almost entirely on the vendor's site.

Best for engineering orgs that want the retro tied to delivery data and a durable health trend; not for teams who need a well-equipped facilitation surface, an engaging session, or a vendor that will clear enterprise procurement today.
