The retro module itself has no changelog of its own — NimbleWork's knowledge base carries no NimbleRetro release-notes category, its retro help article was last revised 20 Apr 2026, and the two most recent Nimble releases (9.17, 9.18) are described as reliability work with no retro features. NimbleWork's press page has not been updated since March 2024. The product is sold and supported; treat the retro roadmap as slow-moving and confirm it with the vendor before committing.
Best for: Small agile teams that want a no-frills retro with built-in root cause analysis and a mobile companion app, especially teams already using the wider NimbleWork (SwiftKanban / Nimble) suite.

The comparison pages frame it as the next-level alternative to TeamRetro, EasyRetro and Retrium, and lean on the parent company's trust signals — AICPA SOC, ISO 27001, GDPR, "Zero Trust Architecture" — plus a one-million-user claim and enterprise logos. The mobile apps and action items that convert straight into Nimble work items are the headline differentiators. Those same pages tick Generative AI for NimbleRetro without naming a single retro AI feature.
NimbleRetro's real differentiator is the 5-Why root cause stage. Almost no other retro tool ships root cause analysis as a built-in phase, and having it in the flow forces the team past symptoms. Anonymous voting, per-stage timers, drag-and-drop grouping and action items that convert straight into Nimble work items all work, and the mobile apps are a genuine plus.
Against the criteria serious agile teams buy on, it's thin: no health checks or longitudinal pulse tracking, no async mode, no recurring retros, no documented export of a retro board in any format. Participants must already belong to the Nimble project the retro was created in. Nothing in the help docs describes AI running on retro data — NimbleWork's AI Agents, sentiment included, are a separately licensed add-on aimed at Nimble cards.
Security is better than the retro pages suggest: NimbleWork runs annual SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 audits and supports SAMLv2/ADFSv3 SSO at platform level. SCIM and audit logs aren't documented.
