Reetro

6.3

Fun, easy and AI-powered online retrospectives

Reetro is a lightweight retrospective tool with a genuinely free tier and a shipped app that runs well ahead of its own marketing site. Three board types — standard, phased (Reflect/Group/Vote/Discuss) and RoundUp, an async video, voice or text interview with AI-generated questions — sit alongside health checks, polls, a happiness calendar and an action tracker. AI meeting summaries, sentiment and emotion trends, auto-grouping and AI action items are quota-limited rather than paid-only, so Free gets a taste. SSO, the Scheduler, anonymous retros and data retention start on the $10/team Pro plan; Pro Unlimited is billed at $49/month per organisation. ISO 27001 is claimed at vendor level; SOC 2 is listed as compliant, not certified.

Summary

Reetro scores 6.3 overall and is best for small to mid-sized agile teams who want a cheap, AI-assisted retro board — SSO, health checks, the Scheduler and anonymous retros at $10/team/mo, or $49/mo flat for the whole org — and who don't need an API or ClickUp/GitHub/Linear. It offers a free tier.

TeamRetro scores 8.7 overall and is best for agile coaches and engineering managers running ongoing health-check programmes alongside sprint retros. It offers paid plans from $20.83/mo billed annually ($25/mo billed monthly) — Single Team, 1 team, 25 members.

Reetro leads on value. TeamRetro leads on ease of use, retro toolkit, fun factor, AI & insights, integrations, open platform and enterprise-grade.

Across our eight scoring dimensions, TeamRetro edges ahead with an overall score of 8.7. That said, the right pick depends on your team — see the dimension-by-dimension breakdown below.

Reetro — pros

 • + Genuinely free tier, no credit card — 3 teams, 9 members, 6 columns and 50 guests, plus quota-limited AI (1 meeting summary, 3 auto-groupings, 3 AI action items a month)
 • + SSO, data retention, the Scheduler and anonymous retros all start on the $10/team Pro plan, confirmed by the app's own upgrade copy
 • + Pro Unlimited is genuinely org-wide — the app bills it at $49/month per organisation, not per team
 • + RoundUp collects async video, voice or text feedback with AI-generated, editable interview questions — a real async mode, not just a board left open
 • + AI meeting summaries carry sentiment, emotion trends (joy/trust/fear/sadness) and participation metrics, and roll up into cross-team comparison views

Reetro — cons

 • The marketing site understates the product: PDF and XLSX export, @mentions, link cards and comparative reporting are all live in the app yet tagged coming soon on the pricing page
 • No public API, no webhooks and no MCP server — nothing can drive Reetro programmatically
 • Confluence and Trello are export-only; Reetro hands you a Word or CSV file and links the other vendor's import instructions
 • Icebreakers are still unshipped — the in-app 'Icebreakers & Games' tiles are badged coming soon and link to a subdomain that no longer resolves
 • No published Reetro-level SOC 2 Type 2 audit (the trust portal lists SOC 2 as 'compliant', ISO 27001 as 'certified'), and no SCIM
 • Anonymity is paid-only, and the Pro Unlimited plan card still reads PER TEAM while the FAQ and the app both say per organisation

TeamRetro — pros

 • + Health checks and maturity models as a first-class module — custom dimensions, radar charts, trends across sprints
 • + Three modules on one subscription: retrospectives, health checks, planning-poker estimation
 • + SAML SSO, RBAC and US-or-EU hosting on every plan, not just Enterprise
 • + GA MCP server, team-level API keys and HMAC-signed webhooks on all plans; 15 native agile-stack integrations plus Zapier and n8n
 • + trAI in-meeting assistant on trial and paid plans, plus 12 native in-meeting icebreaker games on every account

TeamRetro — cons

 • No free tier — 30-day trial, then a paid plan
 • The SOC 2 Type 2 report is Enterprise-only; lower tiers get the SOC 3 report instead
 • SCIM, IP allowlisting, domain capture and guest/observer roles are Enterprise-only, and audit logs are on request rather than self-serve
 • Cross-team insights, reports and programs (team-of-teams) require Enterprise
 • ISO 27001 is inherited from AWS, and hosting is US or EU only — no APAC region despite the Australian HQ
